Thanksgiving is Bailey King's busiest holiday weekend. This year promises to be even more hectic, since Bailey's candy shop, Swissmen Sweets, is providing desserts for Harvest, Ohio's first village-wide Thanksgiving celebration. When Zara's much younger fianc�, Blaze Smith, dies from an allergic reaction to peanuts, both Margot and Zara ask Bailey to investigate, as they fear Margot will be a suspect. In addition to working at her store during the busy Black Friday weekend, Bailey interviews numerous suspects, ultimately identifying the killer and motive. Details of running a candy shop and the lovingly described Holmes County, Ohio, Amish setting frame a satisfying story in which Bailey must also deal with her unease about the strength of her long-distance relationship with lawman Aiden Brody and her desire to expand her shop.
